Bald Faced Hornets
I harboured this Bald Faced Hornets Nest in a Giant Sequoia tree in the garden in back of my apartment. The immediate reaction to such nests is extermination, so I kept it secret to allow these pollinators/pest controllers to survive the summer. I succeeded and know of not a single sting suffered, though the area was not untravelled.
